I have a particular interest in reproductive work encapsulating reproduction including fertility and sub-fertility, reproductive health (Endometriosis), reproductive trauma, loss, grief and pregnancy.

My experience with fertility treatment and loss have shaped me as a psychologist and I integrate my professional and lived experience expertise throughout my client and professional work, training and supervision.

What is a Reproductive Psychologist?

A reproductive psychologist is a mental health professional who focuses on the psychological aspects of reproductive health.

They help individuals and couples navigate the emotional, psychological, and social challenges related to fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, and reproductive loss. This can include providing support during fertility treatments, dealing with infertility struggles, managing the emotional impact of miscarriage, stillbirth, or termination decisions, pregnancy after loss, and reproductive mental health diagnosis of depression or anxiety.

As a reproductive psychologist I draw on various therapeutic techniques and models, including broad range counselling skills, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help people cope with the complex emotional experiences associated with reproductive health.

Hi, I'm Lisa.

I am a psychologist with over fifteen years of experience working in mental health services, non-government organisations and, private practice. I have been fully qualified for 12 years, during which time I have spent time working with adolescents and young adults before transitioning to working with adults and specifically those who have experienced reproductive trauma, loss and challenges.

Having undertaken further training in a range of evidence based psychological approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I offer a range of services and therapy including one off sessions, counselling and report writing for donor conception and surrogacy arrangements, and ongoing therapy. I offer both individual and couples-based supports and intervention.

My areas of interest and work.

I work with adults on a wide range of difficulties including low mood and depression, anxiety and trauma, predominately focused within the reproductive years and spaces, including reproductive loss, fertility, and reproductive health diagnosis (endometriosis, POI) and transition through life phases including childlessness after infertility.

I work with individuals and couples to develop knowledge and skills to move forward on a path forward, which is often unanticipated and outside of the expected plans of life and family building.

My particular therapy focuses and interest is working with those who have experienced Reproductive Trauma, including infertility, pregnancy and baby loss, and reproductive challenges. My personal experience with infertility and loss through my reproductive story have had a significant impact on me, and the work that I am now doing.

I work from a diverse range of therapeutic interventions, and models, however firmly believe those who come to see me are the experts in themselves, and collaborative care is at the heart of the work I do.
